The Polar Bear Does Not Need Ice

We built machines that can describe the world without ever having to live in it. Now we’re reorganizing reality around what they can see.

ABOUT

Anthony Green is an award-winning technology journalist, producer, and professional asker of “wait, but what does that actually mean?”

He’s spent his career reporting on artificial intelligence and the technologies quietly rearranging how we work, communicate, make decisions, and understand the world around us.

Anthony has produced and reported stories for MIT Technology Review, The Wall Street Journal, Vox/Recode, NPR and others—covering everything from algorithmic hiring and digital humans to ransomware, automation, and the increasingly strange relationship between people and machines. His work has appeared in projects including In Machines We Trust, The Future of Everything, and SHIFT, and has picked up a few awards along the way. Which is nice.

Artificial Incredulous is where that experience gets a little more room to roam: rigorous reporting, sharp analysis, unnecessary questions that turn out to be very necessary, and the occasional observation that the future we were promised is behaving extremely weird.

Anthony is not anti-technology.

He would just like to see the receipts.
